Why Kormeeraha?

Kormeeraha, which means “the observer” in the Somali language, is a Somali community magazine published and maintained by aspiring writers and volunteers from around the world.

The main idea behind a media platform is to allow truth-conscious Somalis to come out and fight against false information disseminated by interested parties who believe themselves to be custodians of Somali discourse.

For this reason, Kormeeraha.com’s main objective will be to inform the English-speaking community and the Somali diaspora about accurate news coming from the Horn of Africa and other parts of the world that affects our community on one way or another.

Another task of Kormeeraha.com is to dispel misconceptions about Somali life and experience in the Horn of Africa and around the world and to celebrate their achievements and contributions wherever they occur.

Last but not least, Kormeeraha.com is a platform open to anyone interested in contributing to the current discourse on issues as diverse as politics, society, culture, economy, health, etc.

Our valued readers can contact us info@kormeeraha.com or through our e-form (see above) for comments, ideas or submissions.

We accept articles related to Somali life, culture, history, politics, etc. as well as submissions on any aspect related to Horn of Africa issues. If in doubt, please the Editor at editor@kormeeraha.com or through our e-form.
