The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo receives the Covid-19 vaccine recently delivered by COVAX. He has reaffirmed our strong commitment to the people and the government to save the health and life of our country.
The President reiterated his concern that there is a low level of vigilance on the part of the Somali people against the disease and its increasing risk, while simplifying health tips and instructions to keep us safe.
“We have a strong responsibility to take care of our citizens to prevent the spread of this pandemic. The most important thing is that we make every effort to prevent this disease by strengthening our quality and health services. ”
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo commended the FGS Ministry of Health, doctors, nurses, servicemen and the general health sector in our country for their tremendous efforts to ensure the health of the Somali people, working under difficult circumstances.
The President commended the Government led by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble for its efforts to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to our country and highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between the Federal Commission for the Control of COVID-19 and State-level commissions, which are the basis for the decentralization of health services to address this epidemic.
Due to the fragmentation of the country, and the fact that some local authorities, such as in the North, do not follow the directives of the federal health ministry, the challenges in containing the spread of the disease are enormous.
