Somalia’s COVID-19 Cases On The Rise

The Somali Federal Government’s Ministry of Health said in a daily report on Corona virus data that 117 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the past 24 hours, seven people died and 36 recovered.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ms. Fowzia Abikar Nur, confirmed that new cases have been reported in Banadir (83), Somaliland (32) and Jubbaland (2) regions, 73 of the confirmed patients are male, while 44 are women.

The number of COVID-19 cases registered in the country reached 8,438 and 4,004 people were cured. A total of 307 others died.

Ms. Fowziya Abikar Nur called on the community to take the advice of health professionals and other public awareness campaigns, as the risk of COVID-19 has doubled.
