The Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ms. Nuriyo Adan Isse, has unveiled Braille textbooks for the Primary and Middle School Curriculum for the Braille.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Education, Ms. Nuriya Adan Isse, said that the Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring inclusive education, which means that every Somali child has access to education at all levels.
The books, which were launched today, consist of Grade 1 through Grade 8 Primary and Middle School and are designed to meet the needs of 651 visually impaired students, totaling 8618 books, as well as presented with materials for children with special needs.
The event was attended by directors, education development department, curriculum development department, planning department and director of non-formal education (Tvet & NFE).
