Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Robleh met representatives of the international community in Somalia. They discussed the acceleration and completion of the country’s electoral process, in accordance with the September 17, 2020 agreement and the recommendations of the Baidoa Technical Committee.
Prime Minister Robleh assured the people of Somalia and international partners that the Federal Government of Somalia is always ready to resolve electoral issues and to unconditionally negotiate with all parties concerned, and that the platform for electoral talks is open.
“We reaffirm our commitment to the people of Somalia and our international partners that the Federal Government of Somalia is ready for elections as soon as possible, in accordance with previous electoral agreements, and to resolve ambiguities through dialogue.”
The Federal Government of Somalia reiterates its call on Said Deni and Ahmed Madobe, two leaders absent from the National Consultative Conference on electoral process to join them, resolve differences at the negotiating table and hold transparent elections in the country.
