Government-tasked disaster relief committee responded to drought-stricken regions saying that their call for actions have been answered by several international agencies.
At a press conference in Mogadishu today, the chairman of the committee, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Information and the Minister of Aid for Somalia, said that other international agencies and organizations are responding to the drought relief efforts.
Khadijo Mohamed Diriye, Minister of Relief and Disaster Management, said 5.9 million Somalis are suffering from climate change, drought, floods and other factors.
She noted that the government’s effort to minimize the risks resulting from the problems of people affected by pillows.
Chairman of the committee and Minister of Finance of Somalia, Dr. Abdirahman Duale Beyle said several agencies had responded to the commission’s call, including the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the World Bank and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). found.
